Risk Management

Life’s unexpected events don’t care about your age, health or how much money you have. You can’t predict what will happen tomorrow, but don’t let that stop you from preparing yourself and your family for what life may bring. With the right plan in place, you can shift this potential risk to the insurance company.

What Type of Insurance Do I Need?

Life Insurance

You know the old adage, “There are only two things certain in life – death and taxes.” Having life insurance will pass the financial burden that accompanies death to your insurance company. The most selfless thing you can do for your loved ones is to secure a financial safety net for when that inevitable day comes.

There are two types of life insurance:

  • Permanent Insurance
  • Temporary Insurance

Why is it essential to have Life Insurance?

Long-Term Care Insurance

Nearly 42% of those age 85 and older need some paid long-term care support. Long-term care insurance helps cover all or part of the cost of assisted living facilities and in-home care – expenses that Medicare rarely covers. Without the financial support of Medicare, long-term care costs can add up quickly – the national average for a private room in a nursing home in 2020 was $105,850 annually, according to Genworth – so the right amount of insurance is vital.

Long-Term Disability Insurance

What if you are seriously injured, unable to return to work permanently or for an extended period of time? Long-term disability insurance offers income protection that covers serious injuries or illnesses that keep you from work for three months or longer, or permanently.

Health Insurance

Health insurance covers your medical expenses as well as preventative care. Medical devices and prescription drugs are also included.

Other Health-Related Insurance

Dental insurance helps protect your smile by covering work on your teeth and gums. Policies usually cover preventative care and offer some coverage for basic procedures like root canals and major procedures like those involving dentures. Cosmetic work, like whitening, is usually not covered.

Vision insurance usually refers to health and wellness plans for reducing costs for preventative eye care and prescription eyewear. Some plans also offer discounts on elective vision surgery like LASIK.

Auto Insurance

Auto insurance covers your person and your vehicle in case of damage. It also protects you if you are at fault in a crash that harms someone else’s property or their person. Coverage can also include getting stranded because of car breakdowns, flats, etc.

Homeowner’s Insurance

Homeowner’s insurance is a kind of property insurance that provides coverage for losses and damage to your home and assets in your home. It covers damage or destruction caused by disasters, theft or accidents.
