Meet Scott
Scott Cadwell has had the honor and privilege over the past 30 years to help a diverse group of families through some of their most exciting and nerve-wracking times in their lives. From retirement, births, deaths, divorce, selling a business, lottery winnings, job changes and more, life can bring rapid change to a family’s wealth. He is proud to walk beside his clients.
Scott has worked extensively in the financial field since the early 1980s. He started out working for one of the largest independent CPA firms in the world, Ernst & Young, before founding his own company, Cadwell Wealth in 1989. His goal in founding the company was to develop it into one of the premier boutique full-service financial planning firms in the nation. Scott is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTMpractitioner and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Scott’s diverse background and the nature of clients he serves has ensured that he is a lifelong learner. He finds he can always expand his knowledge and benefit the people that entrust their family wealth to his firm.
Behavior and Emotions Matter
Although he’s a financial advisor (and what he calls a recovering CPA), he quickly learned if he was going to help his clients, he needed to understand the psychology of money, motivation, emotions and relationships. Over the years, he learned that managing wealth doesn’t entail just investments. The sad stories he has heard of people losing their fortune was rarely from a single bad investment or paying too much in taxes. It was usually because money changes people’s emotions, motivation, and relationships. Scott is always trying to bring behavioral finance to the forefront. He believes his role as family advisor is coaching his clients through the ups and downs of life and how the money can be a tool for them. A couple of phrases you may hear him say often are “people are entitled to their own fears, but not their own reality” and “it’s not what you make, it’s what you keep”.
Family, Dedication and Loyalty
Scott has always steered his firm to become part of our clients’ families. Family has always had a major influence in his life and he wants his clients to feel they are part of his. They know that without their clients they are nothing – for those of you that have been with them for many years – they say thank you!
Carson Wealth appreciates the trust you bestow upon them and will do nothing to violate that trust. Scott encourages clients to share their dreams and goals and helps them work toward achieving and experiencing them.
Scott enjoys spending time with family and friends, international traveling, and driving road courses.
