Meet Sue
Sue joined the team as a Sr. Relationship & Operations Manager in March 2009, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering strong client connections. A proud alumna of Northern Michigan University, she is also a 2001 graduate of the prestigious Lake Superior Leadership Academy. Her educational background laid a solid foundation for her professional endeavors, equipping her with the skills necessary to excel in her role.
Before joining the current organization, Sue amassed a diverse range of professional experiences that have shaped her into an adept client relationship expert. She began her career at the Marquette Chamber of Commerce (LSCP), where she gained invaluable insights into community engagement and client service. Following her time at the Chamber, Sue took on the role of General Manager at a local hotel and restaurant, where she honed her leadership and management skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. Additionally, she served as an office manager for a firm in San Diego, further broadening her expertise in organizational operations and client interactions.
Outside of her professional commitments, Sue is involved in her community. She serves as the registration coordinator for the Noquemanon Ski Marathon, an event that celebrates endurance and winter sports in the region. Furthermore, she is a dedicated volunteer board member for the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic, contributing her organizational skills and enthusiasm for outdoor activities to promote this popular cycling event.
Sue is also passionate about gardening and is an active member of the UP Master Gardeners Association. Her love for nature extends to her involvement with the Superior Beekeeping Club, where she shares an interest in sustainable practices. Additionally, she volunteers with Superiorland Pet Partners, participating in the testing of therapy animals to ensure they meet the criteria for providing comfort and companionship to those in need.
In her personal life, Sue values spending time with her family and enjoys nurturing her garden. She loves to read which allows her to unwind and explore new ideas and stories. As a Notary Public, she also offers her services to the community, further underscoring her commitment to supporting others in various capacities.
With her extensive background, community involvement, and a genuine dedication to fostering relationships, Sue remains a vital asset to her team and the community at large.
